He stated he is preparing this material for publication <br /> in local newspapers as a result of the proposed new Mashpee High <br /> School and various findings by the High School Building Committee <br /> as well as a projected new tax rate the highest in the <br /> history of Mashpce! ! Mr. Greig ' s report consists of eight pages <br /> of extensive data r all factual a concerning how Mashpee ' s Tac Levy <br /> is based, including charts and graphs. Page 3 of his three page <br /> summary enols as follows <br /> "IF MASHPEE' S TAX RATE DOES CLIMB To THE WORST SCENARIO <br /> LEVEL MANY of THE ELDERLY ON FIXED INCOMES ARE GOING To BE <br /> FINANCIALLY PRESSED. SUCH AN INCREASE WOULD ALSO SERIOUSLY <br /> AFFECT YOUNGER COUPLES OR SINGLE PARENTS WHOSE ANNUAL, INCOME <br /> IS MODERATE. UNFGRTUNATGELY THOSE YOUNGER COUPLES OR SINGLE <br /> PARENTS DO NOT HAVE RFELIEF [ANDER THE LAW. THE ELDERLY Do <br /> SINCE THEY CAN DEFER ALL OR ANY PORTION OF THEIR TAXES IF <br /> SPECIFIC FINANCIAL, CONDI'T'IONS APPLY, <br /> WE ALL MUST WORK TOGETHER TO KEEP THIS A VIABLE TOWN. 11 <br /> Chairman Greig ' s report is not attached to These Minutes . • . it <br /> is a first draft and is being revised. He plans to have final <br /> copy ready for print by end of this week to appear in the Cape <br /> Cod Tines , The Falmouth Enterprise, The Messenger, and any other <br /> local publication that may be helpful to inform Property owners. <br /> Lengthy discussion followed concerning Mr. Greigts informative <br /> report and is not a part of These Minutes .
