Board of Assessors Meeting Page
Stenberg Proper (continued)
David Bailey further explained the D.O.R. ' s main concern
that the deed quickly gets recorded in Iashpee ' s name. He
pointed out that in case of a death, which would prevent
conveying the property with a signed deed and having it recorded
quickly, a vote previously taken by The Board of Assessors to
elute Mr, Stenberg ' s property taxes so that the land could be
conveyed to The Town , could be rescinded immediately. He
expressed opinion that Assessing is pretty well protected and now
waiting for the final figures and the proper paperwork from
Attorney McNulty, which may be ready as early as tomorrow.
Chairman Greig recommended Board Members meet at 9 : 00 a.m.
tomorrow morning in hope Attorney McNulty will be available with
the necessary data. He informed The Board that he is anxious to have
the ratter finalized as quickly as possible so that Mr. Stenberg
does not have the opportunity to change his mind . . . the
possibility may exist that Mr. Stenberg could choose to pay all
overdue taxes and penalties -.n order to keep his $1 Killion
property.
Upon question from Robert DeLory,, Mr. Bailey informed that
Attorney McNulty had the deed prepared and signed for The Town;
she arranged to have someone at the Registry of Deeds all clay
yesterday to record the deed , but proper information to precede
the recording had not been received.
