• <br /> Board of Assessors Meeting Pace 1 <br /> Hearing on Appeal for Real Property Tax Abatement <br /> Map 128 , Block 2, Unit 670 - Owner Edward Shore (continued) <br /> upon question from Mr,. ando Mrs . Fox, David Bailey expressed <br /> opinion that the reason for the increase in thein house value was <br /> the result of increase in the building grade of a few older homes <br /> when Assessing. modified Its Depreciation Tables - the olden <br /> houses did get a little more normal depreciation of $3 , 000 to <br /> $5 , 000. An adjustment in the building grade does dmake a <br /> difference in higher priced houses. Mrs. Fox stated that the <br /> house across the street, built in 1985 - the same year as her <br /> house was built, decreased in valine - that house is on the water. <br /> Lengthy discussion followed relative to other adjustments <br /> made in that neighbohood in previous assessr en years as well as <br /> docks shared by owfierswhen a property cannot build a dock and <br /> the continual additions and improvements of many area hones with <br /> disregard to what kinds of properties exist next door or in the <br /> immediate area. <br /> Chairman Greig advised Mr. and Mrs. Fox that the Board <br /> Members , with or without Mr. Bailey, will examine the <br /> neighborhood street by street for the comps they cited. He <br /> commended Mrs. Fox for the excellent cornus submitted. Mr. and <br /> Mrs . Fox thanked The Board Members and David Bailey for their <br /> time and consideration. The hearing ended at 8 : 30 p.m. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: <br /> There being no further business before The Board for <br /> discussion, Kenneth Porter made notion The Board adjourn the <br /> meeting; Robert DeLory made second the motion; motion passed; <br /> unanimous decision.
