The Board accepted The List
of One Abatement Denial as read into the Record.
December Tax Bills
David Bailey informed The Board that the As essing
Department was working out a schedule today ; in order for the
bills to go out by January 1 , 1995 , or at the end of December,
1994 , Assessing , must have all its requirements completed and
ready by December lst. He explained that 15 days rust be allowed
for the mailing and 15 days must be allowed for the people who
decipher our tapes . Lengthy discussion followed. Mr. Bailey
stated that he does not envision a lot of changes. Be
recommended that Assessing make as few changes as possible this
year because Mashpee will be doing a full recertification next
year.
[upon comment from Leslie Greig, David Bailey stated that
there are some areas that must be changed:
Areas in Need of Assessment Charges
Raw Land - Mr. Bailey pointed out that raw Land
assessments are so much higher than all the appraisals that are
coming in. The problem exists that when appraisals are done on
large parcels of land, there are no large land sales on the Upper
Cape at all and .very probably not on the Lowen Cape as well. . He
has balked with both Assessors of various Towns and Appraisers
from these areas.
