NOTE: The Mashpee Board of Assessors did not hold regular <br /> Board Meetings on Monday, September 18 , September 25 , and <br /> October 21 nog' on the Monday Holiday of October 9 , 1995 . <br /> MASHPEE BOARD OF ASSESSSORS MINUTES OF TUESDAY,OCTOBER 10 .19'95 <br /> PRESENT: ROBERT R. DeLORY, CHAIRMAN <br /> LESLIE M. GREIG, VICE CHAIRMAN <br /> KENNETH A. PORTER, CLERK{ <br /> DAVID A. BAILEY, DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING <br /> The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman DeLory <br /> at 6 :23 p.m. <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS: <br /> Minutes of The Meeting of August 28 , 1995 <br /> Kenneth Porter referred to Page 3 , Commercial Revaluation, <br /> Paragraph 3 , Stop & _ Shop, He info me 1 that he was walking <br /> through the complex 3ust today and noticed a tremendous amount of <br /> vacancies many of the buildings have only the footings in <br /> place and nothing more. He asked David Bailey if he has heard <br /> anything more on businesses that may have finalized leases i <br /> this new marketplace. Mr. Bailey responded that he has not. <br /> Kenneth Porter referred to Page 2 . Paragraph 3 . Mashpee <br /> Commons Commercial Revaluation. He expressed opinion that <br /> the number of vacancies in this complex lend the appearance of a + <br /> 'Igho t town' . dice Chairman Greig expressed agreement, and he <br /> expressed opinion- that there will be more of a "ghost town <br /> appearance" at Mashpee Commons . He informed that he recently <br /> spoke with Barry of True Value Hardware, who stated his business <br /> wants no. part of this marketplace because "it is going to be a <br /> complex of dress shops that nobody can afford to buy's.. Mr. Greig <br /> stated that this hardware store is a real anchor at the Commons , <br /> Lengthy discussion followed. <br /> David Bailey expressed opinion Mashpee Commons seems to be <br /> going in the direction of "upscale shops"' that this area finds <br /> difficult to support. Kenneth Porter informed that last year <br /> Board Members established this area as "not being as Affluent as <br /> everyone would lice to think" , Leslie Greig made retention of the <br /> young couple who ran the video enterprise that were informed "it <br /> was not suitable for the complex" ! ! David Bailey strongly stated <br />
