Board of Assessors Meeting Page <br /> Commercial. Property - Establishing value continued <br /> David Bailey explained that every three years, <br /> Assessing contracts out the commercial portion of assessments <br /> because Its market information is limited; contractors work in <br /> various towns that have similar properties ; they have current <br /> market data. Periodically, Assessing requests copies of the <br /> commercial properties ' current leases. Lengthy discussion <br /> followed. <br /> Written Employment_Guarantees for Town Employees <br /> Marcia King informed that Ms , Beverly Kiernan, an <br /> Assessing Department Clerk, requested a six month work guarantee <br /> when she was asked to extend her present employment term to <br /> January. Ms, King inquired if David Bailey had given Ms . Kiernan <br /> a written employment guarantee. Mr. Bailey informed that he cid <br /> give a verbal guarantee but not a written guarantee, which <br /> was not requested by Ms . Kiernan, He expressed opinion that he <br /> does not have the authority to dive an employee a written <br /> employment contract. Marcia King stated that if she were Ms . <br /> Kiernan, she would want the guarantee in writing % and she <br /> would make sure she got it in writing ' ! David Bailey stated that <br /> he does not foresee a problem. short discussion followed. <br /> A Typewritten Signature Block for Assessors <br /> Marcia King 'made suggestion that a typewritten <br /> signature block be made for Assessors . she expressed opinion <br /> that the cost would probably be minimal , David Bailey stated <br /> that the signature block is a very good idea . Board Members <br /> expresed agreement, <br /> ADJOURNMENT: <br /> There being no further business before The Board for <br /> discussion, Kenneth Porter made motion The Board adjourn the <br /> meeting; Marcia King made second the motion; motion passed; <br /> unanimous decision. the Regular Board Meeting was adjourned at <br /> p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Eleanor A.
