Boards of Assessors and Selectmen and to all Mayors <br /> regarding Training Programs for Assessors for all. of 1996. <br /> Course 101 is going to be given beginning October 15th in the <br /> .leveret Saltonstal.l Building; the law states that Assessors must <br /> have taken this course within two years of the original. election. <br /> Chairman Greig informed that he has placed a copy of <br /> this correspondence on Marcia King ' s desk; he is pleased that <br /> Course 101 is now mandated, Mr. Bailey pointed out that Nis . Kind <br /> works nett door to that location in Boston, vice Chairman Porter <br /> expressed feeling that the course is a very good one. Nor. Bailey <br /> stated he was informed several months ago that this course <br /> would never again be offered; he feels that someone must have put <br /> pressure on the D.O.R. <br /> Chairman Greig initiated discussion concerning the <br /> requirement of continuing education for Assessors; he strongly <br /> disagrees with this requirement . David Bailey initiated lengthy <br /> discussion concerning a review of proposed legislation and <br /> legislation to be proposed at tomorrow' s meeting in Framingham o <br /> the Legislative Committee o - the Massachusetts Assessors <br /> Association. Mr. Bailey is a member of that committee and will <br /> be attending the meeting . <br /> Board of Assessors Meeting Schedule <br /> The scheduled regular Board Meetings of October <br /> and October 22 have been cancelled and rescheduled to take place <br /> on October 15 and October 29 , 1996 , at 6 : 00 p.m. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: <br /> There being no further business - before The Board for <br /> discussion, Kenneth Porten made motion The Board adjourn the <br /> meeting ; Lesll+e Greig made second the emotion; motion passed; <br /> majority decision.
