We wanted to wait for a fax the t bank was sending us listing all the payments made for 1997 ; the information was given to us orally but had not been faxed by the 4 time we left tonight. { Chairman Greig questioned the amount of $6 , 024 . avid Bailey accessed the computer; he informed that for FY1997 , the Kerrigans ' property taxes were $4 ,094 .05 . Mrs . Kerrigan info' ed that they were also surprised, but they will submit the fax from the bank as soon as it is received. Mr. Kerrigan informed that he spoke with the Supervisor for Fleet Mortgage not more than one hour ago, she told him Fleet issued a payment on January 13 , 1997 for $1 , 894 . 38; for the second quarter Fleet issued a payment on April. 15 , 1997 for $1, 894 . 37 ; a payment was issued on July 16 , 1997 -for $1 , 117 . 73; and a payment was issued on October 17 , 1997 for $1 , 117 . 73 . Ir. Kerrigan emphatically pointed out that this is a total of $6,024 , 21 pari to the Town of Mashpee for 1997 taxesr David Bailey pointed out that them is a betterment ( $300 , and there are two separate fiscal years represented by *. the payments Fleet made; the first two payments are for FY1997 , the second two payments are for FY199 . Upon question from : Richard Kerrigan, Marcia King explained khat the Town ' s fiscal year ends on ,lune 30, Richard Kerrigan expressed his misunderstanding about the tax payments made for FY1997 ; David Bailey explained that the Kerrigans need to know what their bank paid totally for FY1997 takes they need the first two payments made for FY1997 to give there this total. . He further explained that the July 16 and October 17 payments made in 1997 are for FY1998 taxes. Mr, Bailey informed that the Kerrigans were billed a total of $4 , 094 . 05 for FY1997 taxes; if they find out that more money was paid for that year, excluding the F betterment amount, thea their bank paid too much. Lengthy discussion followed. i Mrs. Kerrigan asked The Board to look into their 1997 property assessment and issue an abatement. Mr, Kerrigan stated that obviously, someone made a mistake; the property was r over-assessed! .' Mr. Greig explained that the Property Listor, no longer employed by Mashpee, assessed it. Mr. Bailey informed that. this Board does not have any jurisdiction to do anything with the FY1997 tax bill . It was mailed perhaps December 28 or 29 , 1996 .
