Dave Bailey Is working to <br /> upgrade Dale's job classification in order to improve her salary to ensure that vire do not lose her. <br /> It is necessary to work through the Union in order to get the job upgrade. <br /> Crept. Revaluation <br /> Dave reported that the department is undergoing a revaluation, with a rather ambitious time frame <br /> for completion by calendar year end. He has met with the Dept of Revenue; budget for the <br /> Project is approved. <br /> State Legislative Items <br /> 1. Personal Property tax exemption for accounts under$10,000 is under discussion. This <br /> would reduce the assessment of town property by$22,000,000. A Town Meeting would + <br /> need to be called to approve the exemption. <br /> . community Preservation Act, modeled after the cape Cod Land Bank Tax has not yet <br /> come up but will be scow. This would be an additional %tax. Because there are so <br /> many exemptions to the tax, it is not effective. The monies raised with the tax are divided <br /> into gree categories, each of which gets a minimum of 10%, the amount determined b <br /> the Town: <br /> a. open space <br /> . Affordable housing <br /> c. Historic preservation <br /> The 70 left from the fund is up for grabs and creates potential problems. Chatham will <br /> vote on the Act in May. <br /> DP —FYI <br /> Marcia King reported that the Town of Barnstable has requested the Cape cod Commis*ion to <br /> consider adopting the DCPC (District of critical Planning Concern). DCPC puts a moratorium on <br /> any new construction. The Town of Wellfieet is also thinking about it. Parts of Sandwich and <br /> Harwich have adopted it. The decision for adoption of DCPC is made by the Barnstable County <br /> Assembly of Delegates. <br /> At 4:15 PM chairman Ken Porter moved that the meeting be adjourned.
