I <br /> s <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> Board of Assessors <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of Tuesday, April 12, 2005 <br /> Board Attendees: Also Attending: <br /> Marcia Ding, Vice Chairperson .John Duffy, Director of Assessing <br /> Feather Noyes, Clerk <br /> Jason Streebel <br /> Vice Chairperson Marcia ming called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. <br /> REVIEW I EW of MINUTES <br /> The Board unanimously approved as written the minutes from the meeting of April 4, 2005. <br /> REAL ESTATE PROPERTY ABATEMENT APPLICATION APPROVALS(See Attachment A <br /> Marcia ding made a motion, seconded by Heather Noyes, that the Board accept 22 of the 2 <br /> applications for reel estate property tax abatements fisted on Mate Tac Form 155 dated April <br /> 2005, beginning with the name Nenortas, Costas, Parcel 10#2-137-0-R, and ending with the <br /> name Butler, Lawrence P, Parcel ID# 12801-675-R, the exception being the abatement <br /> application of Diane E. Richardson, Parcel ID# 102-35-0-R,, at 251 Surf Cave. The house on <br /> this property burned down in November, 2044, with the foundation alone remaining. The house, <br /> however, was there on January 1, 2004 through November 2404. The Board agreed to postpone <br /> abatement approval for 251 Surf Ddve un l John Duffy can verify a ruling on hover, under these <br /> circumstances,stances, an abatement should be handled. The Board then unanimously passed the <br /> motion to approve the other 22 abatement applications. <br /> REAL. ESTATE PROPERTY ABATEMENT APPLICATION DENIALS(See Attachment B). <br /> Garcia King made a motion seconded by Jason Streebel that the Board deny the 31 <br /> applications for real estate property tax abatements listed on State Tax Form 155 dated 4/12145, <br /> beginning with the name Cadoni, Virgil, Panel ID# 139-3-18-0-R,, and ending with the name <br /> I=erris, David Illi, Parcel ID#10155-124- 8-0-R. The motion was unanimously approved by the <br /> Board. <br /> BOARD of ASSESSORS REORGANLZATION <br /> Marcia King suggested than since there was now a third member on the Board of Assessors, they <br /> should reorganize. Feather Noyes nominated Marcia ding as the new Chairman; Jason Streebel <br /> nominated Feather Moyes as Mice Chairman; Feather Noyes nominated Jason Streebel as Clerk. <br /> The Board unanimously approved all the nominations. John Duffy agreed to notify the Town <br /> Manager of the new Board organization. <br /> Jason Streebel asked whether the Town had shown an interest to vote in an available option to <br /> increase the allowable limits on clause 41C Eldedy Exemptions). The option 'increases the age <br /> eligibility, the income allowance, and allowance o assets. The exemption would lower the age <br /> g <br /> limit from 70 to 65. Marcia stated that she had not seen it on the Warrant She commented that � <br /> this option shifts the tax burden to other taxpayers. <br /> John Duffy reported that the total amount of the supplemental bills sent out after the third quarter <br /> totaled $52,432.62. <br /> 1 <br />
