Jason-Streebel added- <br /> that there was a choice in this case whether or not, given their own special land pricing <br /> index which vire have no sales to back up, to-keep them with the rest of waterfront <br /> properties in the Town of Mashpee and adjust for the topography. <br /> F Theresa Cool{stated-that she was merely passing along questions posed to her about <br /> the situation: when you have a half-acre land-locked lot with no water vier, not on the <br /> golf course, wand you have a bigger lot that backs up to conservation, has a water vier, <br /> and for just 1 1/ hours at either side of low tide the property owner cannot ging their 31- <br /> ft. boat down the Mashpee River, how can these two properties be equally assessed? <br /> Gregg Fraser stated that at the request of the DOFF, there was a change in the <br /> methodology applied to the recent land revaluation process, and there may be some <br /> areas that will need to be looked at during the next interim assessment to see ff <br /> adjustments are needed. <br /> BOARD of ASSESSORS REPORTS . <br /> Sheldon Holzer, Vice e chair an <br /> Sheldon Holzer reported that he and Jason Streebel went on a field trip to the property <br /> owned by Mary Jo Brennan, who was looking for an assessment reduction to 76 Lake <br /> Avenue, an approximate 2-acre parcel, from roughly $250,000 down to'$175,000. Her <br /> request was based on the fact that she was selling several parcels from the 200 acres to <br /> the Town. Ms. Brennan had already been granted an adjustment for her limited access <br /> to the property. Sheldon Hofer and .Jason Streebel agreed to recommend denial of <br /> Nis. Brennan's abatement request. <br /> Paul Andrews, chairman <br /> Paul Andrews inquired as to when the assistant assessor positron was going to be <br /> advertised. .Jason Streebel stated that he has not yet received official word as to the <br /> disposition of the vacant post. .Jason Streebel anticipates that the post will probably be <br /> approved after the May Town fleeting after the budget is in place, because the money is <br /> still in the budget for the position. <br /> Gregg Fraser, Clerk <br /> No report. <br /> DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING REPORT <br /> 1,.Jason Streebel reported that there are 34 abatement applications yet to be processed. <br /> 2. Jason Streebel reported receipt of one formal appellate tax board filing on a denial <br /> approved by the BOA in January '08, from Edwin and l3hanna Kaplan on 77 Triton inlay. <br /> Thea may be a second appellate tax board filing corning from Michael Moskowitz on <br /> 146 Poppcnesset Island Road, whose abatement application was denied due to lack o <br /> justification for the request. <br /> . Jason Streebel reported that he has been subpoenaed to appear in court in June 'o . <br /> along with other Town officers regarding the suit fled by Nancy Caffyn against Fred <br /> Blythe. <br />
