3. Chapter Land Exemption Applications Discal 2010 and Charitable Entities Filing for <br /> Exemption for 201 Mr. Streebel announced that the documents have been reviewed and are in order <br /> and he will bring any paperwork re wiring review and/or signatures to the next meeting. <br /> r <br /> . State Class Codes*Many property classification codes have been changed. Tn particular, all <br /> exempt properties must be re-classified and clearly defined as to the type of property. The re- <br /> classifying project is on track to be completed in August. <br /> . Parol Kapinos & Associates-Mr. Streebel reported that the cyclical inspection program is nearly <br /> finished, it was determined that another 120 parcels still need to be reviewed in order to fulfill their <br /> contract. The appropriate parcels have been identified and will be completed during the next two <br /> weeks. <br /> OLD BUS ESS <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. A Boat Excise Abatement Application: <br /> Mr. Holzer made a motion that the request for abatement of a boat be denied on the basis of the <br /> fact that the application does not comply with the law. Chairman Andrus seconded the motion. <br /> Motion carries. <br /> 2. State owned Land: <br /> Mr. Streebel noted that there have been issues with state owned properties, such as the state owned <br /> beach in Mashpee. After the state took over ownership of properties, it was obligated to reimburse <br /> cities and towns in an effort to compensate for taking the property off of the tax rolls. However, dine to <br /> state budget .constraints, municipalities have not been reimbursed at the same tax rate and the <br /> properties remain exempt. The Assessing Department disagrees with the methodology used by the <br /> State to determine the values. It i's intended that the issue wi11 be disputed with the Appellate'Tax <br /> Board with the assistance of Town Counsel. <br /> NEXT SETING <br /> The next meeting for the Board of Assessors was scheduled for September 16 at 5-45 pm. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion made to adjourn by Mr. Holzer a 5:56 pay.
