Minutes of the Meeting of Thursday, March 17, 2011 Board Members Present* Also Present: Sheldon Holzer, Chairman .Jason Streebel, Director of Assessing Gregg Fraser, Co-chairman Paul Andrews, clerk CALL To ORDER Chairman Sheldon Holzer called the meeting to order at 5:45 PM. PUBLIC COMMENTS No public comments. REVIEW of MINUTES ` Paul Andrews made a motion that the minutes from the Board of Assessors Public Session held on 2116111 be approved as presented. Gregg Fraser seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Paul Andrews made a motion that-the minutes from the Board of Assessors Executive session held on /16/11 be approved as presented. Gregg Fraser seconded the motion. The motion T was unanimously approved. DIRECTOR of ASSESSING REPORT—.Jason sreebel . 1. ,Jason Streebel reported that he will be out of the office from Wednesday, 3/23/11 through Tuesday, 3129111 returning to the office on Wednesday, 3/30/11. . flooring bills went out today. The mailing has been delayed because the Harbor Master, Perry Ellis, has been out on disability singe October, 2010. Mr. Alis plans to retire at the end of his terra in the spring of 2011. . .Jason Streebel reported receipt of 215 abatement applications this year, with 56 abatements yet to be processed which require more information. At the conclusion of the Assessor's meeting tonight, there will have been 159 abatements addressed. Less than $25,500 has been abated this year, with $173,757 in exemptions. ,Jason stated that the overlay this year was $429,928; $199,250 was spent, which leaves $230,000 remaining. Paul Andrews made a motion that the Board adjourn the Public Session to move into Executive Session, to return to Public Session, in order to comply with General Laver MGL Chapter 59, Section 60, to discuss possible exemption/abatement applications, the contents of which are not public record. Gregg Fraser seconded the emotion. Roll call Vote: Sheldon Holzer, yes; Gregg Fraser, yes; Paul Andrews, yes. The motion was unanimously approved. The Public Session was adjourned at 5:45 Pull.
