owners to the Police Department in the absence of a Harbor Master, for determination of what
will be required in order to keep their moorings. The mooring bills were recently mailed out.
. Discussion of Agenda Format
Mason Streebel stated there has been communication with the Town Clerk as to a complaint to
the Attorney General's office regarding a Sewer Commission agenda item which was labeled
"Discussion of Sewer Permits". The AG now is requiring that the agenda must include the
name, the address and the location of each sewer permit to be reviewed. The ruling as it
applies to the Board of Assessors would require agenda preparation six days before the
meeting date of abatement applications included in the agenda. Because there are sometimes
as many as 80 applications to be reviewed, the agenda for such a meeting would become
unwieldy. Jason suggested to the Town Clerk that perhaps a detailed report attached to the
agenda would suffice. The issue has been referred to Town Counsel for review.
Jason Streebel stated that the Town Clerk is of the opinion that the Board of Assessors needs
to regularly release the Executive Session minutes when the information is no longer relevant.
Jason stated that there is information included in the Assessing Executive Session minutes that .
will always be confidential, including medical histories, social security numbers, phone numbers,
financial data, and litigation information. The Torn Clerk has referred the issue td Town
Counsel for review. }
NEXT MEETING -Thursday, April 21, 2011 — 5:45 PM in the Assessing office.
Jason Streebel stated that April 21, 2011 is the last date by which the Board can address al
abatement applications before they begin to be automatically denied. It also gives a maximum
amount of time for receipt of additional information required for pending abatement applications.
Paul Andrews made a motion that the Board of Assessors Public Session be adjourned. Gregg
Fraser seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. The meeting was
adjourned at 6:15 PNM.
Respectfully submitted,
Ina G.
