TOWN OF MASHPEE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> JANUARY 14, 2010 <br /> Members Present: Bob/Beverly Wooldridge, Charles Maintanis, Terrie Cook, Trish Parolski, <br /> Marilyn Farren, Maria Hortaridis. Don Megathlin, guest. Absent: Bill Dundon,Mert Sapers. <br /> Minutes: BobWooldridge opened meeting at 2:00 p.m., Town Hall, Rm. 2. The Minutes of <br /> November 12, 2009 were moved by Marilyn Farren, seconded by Trish Parolski. Unanimous. <br /> South Cane Village: The Joy Street plan is going back to the Planning Board for their perusal <br /> and approval. Don Megathlin plans to expand the parking on Commercial Street. Don <br /> Megathlin agrees to a `H' space at Olympia Sports,van accessible wide aisle, and crosswalk <br /> diagonal to Dunkin' Donuts. Design Review approved the artist rendering of new Joy Street <br /> with curb stops, a crosswalk at either end to include Commercial and South Streets, and one `H' <br /> space to be van accessible 5'to 8' and one way West. Roche will change 8 out of 12 `H' spaces <br /> to be van accessible. Special permit needs four votes from the Planning Board, <br /> MOTION: ADA will send a letter to the Planning Board before their meeting on February <br /> 3'supporting the changes stated above. Trish Parolski moved, Marilyn Farren seconded.. <br /> Unanimous. <br /> Beach Access: To date we have collected $545. Terrie is open to inviting someone to speak at <br /> the Kiwanis breakfast meeting at Persy's Place, Thursday, 7:00 a.m. Maria Hortaridis will talk <br /> with the Superintendent about providing a fundraiser in the spring. Terrie will look into doing <br /> mailings. Bob Wooldridge will check with Mert Sapers, member of the Men's Club, and also, <br /> the Rotary Club which meets Wednesday, 7:00 a.m. at Perry's Place. <br /> Town Annual Ins ections for Com fiance: Charlie is up to date on legal parking in commercial <br /> developments. If anyone sees any `H' parking issues,please let him know. <br /> EmgMency Preparedness: There is a manual in place to follow procedure. Ultimately, call 911 <br /> for assistance. <br /> Town Meeting Warrant: Any Articles are due the first Monday in February. <br /> Annual Re ort: Bob submitted the Annual Report for ADA yesterday. <br /> Conflict of Interest-Law: All ADA members are required to take an on-line test to become <br /> certified. <br /> Universal Design: This is the new buzz word promoting universal access. <br /> Divers&Breakfast: This will take place at Mashpee High School, Saturday, January 16,2010. <br /> Adjournment: Meeting adjourned 3:10 p.m. Next meeting will be Thursday, March 11, 2010. <br />
