2 <br /> Capital Improvement Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 23, 2004 <br /> CIP Overview: <br /> Using total, duality management techniques,the CIP Committee pnoritized <br /> We additional capital improvement program requests. Although the <br /> amount available for funding has not been determined, the Committee <br /> agreed to consider last year's appropriation of$351,691 as a general <br /> funding guide. <br /> The Committee agreed to commit to the lease of police vehicles. The <br /> Deputy Chief of Police submitted a follow-up with modifications to the <br /> initial budget submission. After reviewing the departments inventory, it <br /> was determined that police Department could safely get by with eight(8) <br /> new patrol vehicles in FY06 and four 4 new vehicles in FY0 7. The <br /> original subn ssion requested ten vehicles in fiscal year 2006, and three i <br /> fiscal year Zoo . It was agreed that the lease request would be further <br /> earned. <br /> Additional information would be requested regarding the Police <br /> Department's request to modernize the secure evidence storage facility. <br /> The Police Department is required to maintain a secure area to house <br /> evidence that is collected during the investigation of criminal offenses. <br /> Two modular lockers are proposed for the sum of$4,000 each. The total <br /> request of the department is $25,000 to purchase the lockers and <br /> modernize the secure evidence facility. <br /> The replacement of the thirty-year heating system, a cost of$35,000 was <br /> also considered a priority. More information would be requested <br /> regarding the present expectancy of the system. <br /> -The School Department prioritized floor covering requests through fiscal <br /> year Zoo . In FY06, floor covering would include the and carpeting that <br /> -would be installed in the following areas in the KC Coombs School;the <br /> cafeteria, the first floor hallways, music room,the art room and rooms <br /> 1315 135, 161, 1621 1631P 1681P 16% 170, 1729 183, and 234 through 238. 1n <br /> the Quashnet School,the library,the music room, and the administration <br /> and guidance would be re-carpeted and/or tiled in phase one. The CIP <br /> Committee agreed to comet to the replacement of the door coverings as <br /> identified to correct health and safety concerns. <br />
