6 <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 1 , 2005 <br /> Sever: <br /> Tori, Tudala, Sewer Commission indicated that potential sites have been <br /> identified to remove nitrogen from the Popponesset Bay watershed. To <br /> date,the new subsurface area at the New Seaury golf course is deemed <br /> the most favorable site to move treated wastewater from existing treatment <br /> facilities and developments. <br /> The project 1n the capital improvement program is estimated to cost$8.8 <br /> million. In FY09,, design of the effluent pipeline in the amount of <br /> $800,,000 is proposed. The$8 million sewer expansion is proposed in <br /> fiscal year 2010. <br /> The engineering firm of Stearns and Wheler and the School of Marine <br /> Science &Technology at Mass Dartmouth are working on a plan that <br /> will re onunend both facilities and management options relevant to the <br /> establishment of a municipal sewer system and management of nitrogen <br /> loading to the watersheds. One.of the specific projects under study is the <br /> potential for relocation of nitrogen discharge from existing treatment <br /> facilities and developments to the new discharge area in New Seabury. <br /> AdJ o rn ent,: <br /> Motion made by Ms. Cook to adjourn at 4:25 .m. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr.Umina. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Kathleen M.
