2 <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee <br /> Minute <br /> November 18, 2008 <br /> Present: Joyce Mason, Theresa Cook,Nancy Jo Goulart, <br /> Dawn Thayer, Charles Gasior <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Mason at ;oo p.m. <br /> "on Mall, Conference Room#2 <br /> METLTES <br /> Tuesdgy, hnmAu 22,2008.- <br /> Motion <br /> 2,2008:Motion made by Ms. Cook to approve the minutes of Tuesday, <br /> January 22,2008 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Ms.Mason. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous, <br /> Ms. Goulart abstained. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Council on A ; <br /> ,lanes Long, Council on Aging(COA)Director was in attendance to <br /> discuss the F 201 o capital improvement program request of his <br /> department for a new 14 passenger C A Van for the estimated sum of i <br /> $452000. <br /> It vias noted the current 10 passenger CA van was essentially new when <br /> it was acquired by the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority(CCRTA) <br /> through the Executive Office of Transportation program in 200 3. The van <br /> is leased by the CCRTA.for 1.00,and there is a general con=*trnent to <br /> replace the van every five years in the state funded program. In light of <br /> the present difficulties with the Commonwealth of MA,the application is <br /> submitted to the CIP for awareness of the need. <br /> Mr. Long indicated the present van has approximately 93,000 males. It i <br /> used on a daily basis by the COA for transport. Anne mileage is <br /> estimated at 20,000 miles per year. It was noted the van has been <br /> experiencing significant repair costs the past months. In accordance <br /> with the CIP Vehicle Replacement Program, the CA was requested to <br /> remit a detailed history of mileage,repairs and maintenance to the CIP for <br /> y review. <br />
