3 Capital Improvement Program Committee Minutes November er 20, 2008 APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS Department of Public works: Catherine Laurent, Director of Public works requested the Capital Improvement Program CIP Committee consider a Lease Purchase program for the D W. The three-year replacement program would allow for the lease purchase of(5)trucks in FY201 o at a cost of$15,000 each. The vehicles in order of suggested replacement include E-1, a 1999 F 3 o pickup truck defend from FYo , E-2, a 1999 pickup truer also deferred from,the CIP budget in FYo , E-3, a 1995 GMC Sierra utility body truck, E-4, a 1989 Ford F350 pickup truck and E-5 a 2000 Ford F350 pickup truck which was deferred.,from FYo . It was noted.that E-3-and E-4-are School maintenance vehicles. Ms. Laurent explained the purchase would allow the DPW to begin a new vehicle replacement pr gram. The total request in FY201 o is$75,000. Total funds required in the three-year lease purchase program are $43,'750 for vehicles E-1 through E- . To purchase the vehicles outright, the estimated cost i $4 19000 per vehicle. In FY2 12,the lease cost of vehicle E-5 increases by $6,050 to include a power lift tailgate. The total cost of the vehicle is$49,800. In fiscal year 2011,the replacement series includes five additional lease/purchase vehicles at a cost of$185,000 for the 10 DPW vehicles in year 1 and year 2.
