I <br /> Cemetery Commission <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> November 1 , 2002 <br /> Members present: Ernie Virgilio, Charles Hinckley, Mike Scirpoll <br /> Others: Catherine Laurent, Mary Keleher <br /> E. Virgilio called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. <br /> The minutes ofJuly 19, 2002 and October 23,,'2002 were approved <br /> Discussion began with the update with the Board ofSelectman scheduled for the Monday <br /> November 18, 2002 meeting. The Article for the December 9. 2002 Special Town <br /> Meeting is to request the transfer from the Cemetery Deserve Receipt Account <br /> $6,300.00, to the Cemetery Maintenance Account. The Selectmen would life information <br /> on the uses of these funds if approved. E. Virgilio asked C. Laurent to make the <br /> presentation to the Selectmen and the Commissioners will be there for support and <br /> comment if needed. <br /> E. Virgilio questioned snow,plowing ofthe Cemetery. C. Laurent said that the mai <br /> through ways would be staled out. However, if a funeral is scheduled more areas would <br /> be staked out and plowed, <br /> Discussion ussion o the FY04 Capital and Operating Budgets began with C. Laurentlinin <br /> p that she sent a memo to the Town Accountant requesting clarification on the other funds <br /> that have been appropriated. In speaking with the Asst. Town Accountant C. Laurent <br /> discovered that the money has been expended. At this time the Asst, Town Accountant <br /> couldn't tell her homer because it was spent in prior fiscal gears. C. Laurent seat another <br /> memo requesting a break down on how the money was spent, C. Laurent asked the <br /> Commissioners if they felt a Capital request for additional moneY should be submitted. <br /> They agreed that a request should be made for$40,000.00. <br /> C. Laurent told the Commissioners she has contacted a signomp �n for a sketch of <br /> sign for the entrance to the Cemetery. M. Scirpoli questioned the size of the sign. C. <br /> Laurent pointed out that under the sign code they are limited to twenty sure feet. The <br /> sign will be a wooden sign and is temporary until there is enough moneyavailable to recto <br /> the front e�atrance <br /> . <br /> In new business, E. Virgilio received a call from Glenn Marshal. Glenn has concerns <br /> about what Leigh Potter told him about Cemetery fees. E. Virgilio asked what Leigh <br /> Potters association with the Cemetery is. C. Laurent explained that Leigh's involvement <br /> with the Cemeteries is through the I .P.W., however, some individuals still contact him to <br /> dig graves for burials. C. Laurent has sent letters to area funeral hones asking in theto <br /> contact her department when a burial is scheduled. C. Laurent thinks the concern is the <br /> fact that in the spring when the Board of Selectmen adopted the Rules and Regulations <br />
