MASHPEE COUNCIL ON AGING OCTOBER 9, 1996 MEMBERS PRESENT ALSO PRESENT Mimi, Mullin, Chairman Lynne Waterman, outreach Betty Jones, V. Chairman .. Coordinator Arthur Weinstein, Treasurer Aurora Bird ABSENT Frank Hicks Jean Nousee- Jim Long, Director ABSENT Robert Osborn The meeting was opened by the Chairman at 9:07 AM, Frank Hicks made a motion to accept the Secretary's Report as written and it was seconded by Betty Jones. So moved There was no Treasurer' s Report. ' The Director' s Report was handed out. The new van is on location in Marlboro. Interviews are being conducted for the van givers. The Capital Budget has been submitted to the Executive secretary. Betty Jones made a motion to accept the Director' s Report as written and it was seconded by Frank Hicks, So moved. The outreach Coordinator' s Report was handed out and discussed. Arthur Weinstein made a motion to accept the report as written c-md it was seconded by Frank Hicks. so moved. There- was no report from the Friends of the CoA Greg Taylor, DPW Director, came to the meeting as we requested to discuss the care of the grounds at the senior Center. He talked at length about the budget constraints and stated that there were nouns in his budget to care for our grounds, Greg stated that the Library is cared for by the Beautification Council* DPW does the lawns at the town buildings and at times they have a difficult time keeping up with the lawns, Greg stated that the DPW budget is controlled by the Selectmen, He suggested that we get an estimate of what the work would cost and that the Finance Committee be approached for help and also the Selectmen, He would like the Director to look into this and contact our liaison, Curtis Frye to become involved. Greg stated that he could get in touch with Jim about this Matter.
