a t MASHPEE COUNCIL N AGING FEBRUARY 12, 1997 MEMBERS PRESENT ALSO PRESENT Mimi Mulli, Chairman Jim Long, Director Better Jones, V. Chm. , Sec, Lynne Waterman, Outreach Arthur Weinstein, Treasurer Coordinator Aurora Bird Frank Hicks Jeanne Noussee Robert Osborn The meeting was opened at 9 :20 AM in the Carol H. Jacobson Senior Center. The Council on Aging was taken for a short ride in the new gran and all agreed that it was wonderful for the seniors in town, Frank Hicks rade a motion to accept the Secretary' s Report as written and it was seconded by Aurora Bird, So roved. Arthur Weinstein handed out the 'Treasurer' s Report and it was discussed. The figures are very good and all agreed that we are within budget. Bob Osborn made a motion to accept the Treasurer' s Report and it was seconded by Jeanne Noussee, So moved. The Director's Report was handed out and discussed. The Senior Van has been well received in town and each month we see increased usage. A senior Aide has joined our staff through the senior side Program offered through Elder Services, The Director has been appointed Vice-Chairperson for the Town' s Human Service Committee. Betty Jones made a notion to accept the Director' s Report as written and it was seconded by Bob Osborn. so moved. The Outreach Coordinator' s Report was handed out and discussed. Four new volunteers were trained and will be assisting with friendly visiting, respite and office projects. Bob Osborn made a motion to accept the ,report as written and it was seconded by Aurora Bird, so moved. Under the Title lllB Grant a pro forma award of $4300 was made to the CA through the efforts of the Director. The Cultural Council will sponsor the entertainment for the Social Club for two parties.
