Ate <br /> Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> February 5, 2013 at 6:30 pm <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Roorn, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Kalliope Egloff <br /> Also Present: Selectman Michael Richardson <br /> Absent: Allan Isbit <br /> CALL,TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott called the meeting to order at 630 p.m. and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL of TES-January 8, 2013 <br /> Mr. Johnson made a motion to accept the minutes. Ms* Egloff seconded the motion. All <br /> voted unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Feasibility Study <br /> Selectman Richardson indicated that the Town believed funds were approved by DHCD and that <br /> they were awaiting authorization for the funding. Additionally, Selectman Richardson <br /> confirmed that the CPC had approved moving forward with an Article for the funds but that the <br /> funds would need to be accepted by the Board of Selectmen or the Affordable Trust. Selectman <br /> Richardson planned to meet with Bob Lawton, from Yarmouth and knowledgeable about <br /> affordable trusts, regarding Mashpee's Affordable Housing Trust. Mr. Johnson requested that he <br /> and Ms. Botsford be contacted regarding the upcoming Afford abl a Housing Trust meeting. <br /> Selectman Richardson confirmed that Mr. Johnson would be invited to attend. Mr. Johnson <br /> recommended that the funds be forwarded to the Affordable Dousing Frust in order for the Trust <br /> to begin working. There was discussion regarding whether a special revenue account was in <br /> place for the Affordable Housing Frust. There was consensus that the funds be set aside in <br /> special account designated for affordable housing, rather than in the general fund. once the <br /> funds were acquired, the Chair questioned the means by which an RFP would be generated. <br /> Selectman Richardson suggested that the RFP would be recommended by the Affordable <br /> Housing'Committee,then distributed by the Affordable Housing Frust. <br /> CPC Update <br /> Chairman Abbott stated that Mr. Isbitz attended the CPC meeting and reported that the Town <br /> Manager intended to re-submit the application and sign it, along with Chairman Abbott,to <br /> possibly request additional funds. The Chair contacted Tis. Mason by email, but had not yet <br /> beard back. There was discussion regarding a deadline. The Chair stated that any remaining <br /> CPC funds could not be used for an additional study and that a second application would need t <br /> be submitted for a second site. The Chair reported that Ms. Botsford submitted a request for <br /> additional funds to expand her program. <br /> The Chair reported that Board members of the Quashnet Valley Homeowner's Association have <br /> expressed concern about the request. The Clair had responded that information vias not <br /> available until the study was completed, but that the Committee would be happy to was. <br /> any <br />
