visiters and the newsletter. Also on the agenda for Lynne were many CORI
checks for those new volunteers.
In addition, Lynne participated in the first meeting of our intergenerational
volunteers. Excellent feedback and suggestions regarding future activities was
received.
Other meetings included the Upper Cape Consortium (met with Donna
French, new Residents Services Coordinator of Mashpee Village); volunteer
canvassers, ready to resume their work; the TRIAD officer, Eric Pestifli; and
Emma Jo Mills Brennan, who is administering a Tribal Council Grant.
Another item discussed.was this year's recognition event, which will be a casual
luncheon at the Senior Center with Roche Brothers doing the catering. It will
be held on Thursday, June 9`" at 1:00. The Men's club will help with the
event, and a Volunteer and Volunteer Rookie of the year will be chosen.
OLD BUSINESS—There was some discussion about the new thrift shop to be
constructed on the grounds— its location and completion date.
NEW BUSINESS — Under discussion was the possibility of purchasing a
generator for the Center with the possibility of providing a shelter for seniors in
the event of a natural disaster on Cape Cod. In addition, there was some
discussion concerning the need for lightening insurance to prevent substantial
monetary expenses for the building and/or equipment housed therein.
MOTION TO ADJOURN -- There being no further business, the motion to
adjourn was approved and seconded at 10:45. So moved.
Respectfully submitted,
Marijo G ney
Secretary
