Perhaps some volunteer can take this <br /> over. Tabled to the March meeting. <br /> OUTREACH COORDINATOR'S REPORT: <br /> Hoge Vii of mn : Forty were made this past month, in addition to client contact by <br /> phone calls. I experienced a significant increase in the number of seniors and their families <br /> seeping assistance. I met with several seniors seeping information about financial assistance <br /> programs such as food stamps, fuel assistance, Medicaid, etc. as well as information about local <br /> charities. Also, I met with several caregivers who were overwhelmed with their loved one's <br /> care, and who were seeping at home respite and generally, guidance and support. Assisting <br /> seniors with meatal health concerns such as hoarding, and dementia continues to be a major <br /> focus of my work. <br /> Volunteers.* I met with a new volunteer, who will assist with friendly visiting. i met with the <br /> telefriend volunteer, SHINE, and friendly visitor assistant,to provide supervision. I met with the <br /> volunteer who delivers birthday flowers to all those ninety and older, to review this year's list of <br /> approximately one hundred seniors. <br /> N i g Corr a : I met with staff of Alzheimer's Services, who are looking for space in <br /> Mashpee to conduct a day program for seniors with early stage dementia. I met with Jackie <br /> Powers, Social Worker, Beacon Hospice,who agreed to conduct a journal writing workshop <br /> group for seniors who are coping with loss. I met with Judy Fregot, Social worker, VNA <br /> Hospice,who agreed to conduct in April, a stress-relief workshop for caregivers. I met with <br /> Maureen Clancy of Gentiva, who agreed to conduct a presentation on Medicare's home care <br /> requirements. I met with Lisa Malcolm, to finalize her workshop on d clutt ring, and also her <br /> film series on mental health. Jim and I met with staff from the visiting burse Association to <br /> discuss utilization of the Town's contract with this agency. As a result,their public health nurse <br /> will visit seniors I identify to her. There is a$150,000 grant over three years pertaining to <br /> suicide that Bourne-originated, and M shpee receives some of this money.- The Selectmen would <br /> be interested in hearing more about such programs, and Wayne Taylor suggested that Jinn and <br /> Lynne be put on the Selectmen's Agenda. <br />' <br /> VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT REPORT; <br /> It is so delightful to be back.
