I <br /> We had 17 people sign up, and the reports 1 received from the people who attended were very <br /> positive. <br /> Driver .a : All drivers have sent in their material for this year. This is the first time all have <br /> responded. Thanks to Joyce Connors who sent out the letters and followed up with the drivers. <br /> New Volunteers: we had a number of inquiries about volunteering during March, but no actural <br /> sign-ups. Many people could not be reached by phone. However,I have some appointments <br /> scheduled in the beginning of March. Our list of volunteer's contains 217 people right now, and I <br /> expect to have a.few more as I update for volunteer recognition. This is down from between 240 <br /> and 250 in recent years. <br /> eafth Fair: A new volunteer,Joan Fennell, is helping ane to prepare for a Health Fair at Christ <br /> the King on May 2, 2009. She is prep rmg information on the health benefits of volunteerimg <br /> and information on our programs that address health issues. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Jim distributed the gown Attorney's opinion regarding religious groins use of the Senior Center. <br /> If we make space available to non-profit groups,thea it would be permissible for religious <br /> organizations to meet at the Senior Center, 1t is not illegal to allow a religious group to use a <br /> public space. we cannot favor one gaup over another. Our charges and policies-should be <br /> applied to the religious group,as it is with anyother group that uses the building. <br /> motion was made to rescind a previous vote pertaining to this natter, and to only allow social <br /> activities and not religious services at the Senior Center. Unanimous. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Friends Thrift Shop:The shop is reader for spring. They received a lot of donations. The <br /> opening was advertised in the local papers. The history ofthe shop was presented on Channel <br /> 17.
