5 <br /> 1 <br /> 4 <br /> MASHPEE COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES JANUARY 13, 2010 <br /> Present: Jack Dorsey, Arthur Eisenberg, Irving Goldberg, Jack Jordan, Jeanne Nusse, Jim <br /> Long, Lynne Waterman. Absent: Virginia McIntyre, Mari]o Gurney. <br /> The meeting opened at 8:30 a.m, in the Board Room of the Mashpee Senior Center. <br /> SECRETARY'S REPORT: The Minutes of November 2009 were approved with some changes. <br /> TREASURER'S REPORT: Jim Long circulated the up-to-date expenditure report he ran <br /> yesterday, January 12, 20 10. The system requires encumbering money for expenses i. . energy, <br /> utilities, etc ,which makes for complex accounting and reporting. Jim noted on page 7, the <br /> budget is $221,407, and the amount spent is $106,443 (46%). Wages are at 50% expended. <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT: <br /> Celebration: There will be a 5th Anniversary Party on January 16, 2010. 1 eo le have signed <br /> up to attend. Irving, Jack Dorsey, Jack Jordan, arra Jim Dong will meet after this meeting to <br /> finalize the details. <br /> 2011 Budget: Jim had to reduce the budget by 3% and thea another 2%for a total of 5% to stay <br /> within the $2211,307 budgeted. Approximately $4,500 had to be cut out. Jim made his <br /> recommendations,, acrd he anticipates further cuts next year due to State cuts. Jim established a <br /> revolving account to receive donations and pay for guest speakers and programs. Jim noted that <br /> a$100 donation was received from the Women's Club to help fund the Anniversary party. The <br /> donation account, revolving account, formula grant and the many volunteers help to keep us <br /> operating. It was suggested to charge room use fees to Leisure Services. <br /> Candid CO Membership: There are two openings on the Board, and four candidates have <br /> applied: Peter Squeglia,Norma McCormick, Mert Sapers, and Sue Clegg.
