Community Preservation Committee Minutes January 17,200 Public Hearing-Community Preservation Funding pplici n: (continued) Gerald Umina, Algonquin Investment Trust submitted an application t the Committee to consider the purchase of 153 Paya ps Road for the preservation of seven+ - acres for the purpose of open space. The propel abuts the Mashpee Wildlife Refuge area. The land, if kept in its natural state would enhance the existing wildlife refuge and prevent development of a potential 40B project. The Committee agreed to meet nth Mr. Umina at 6:00 p.m. at their next meeting to review the project proposal. Due to scheduling constraints, it was agreed the Comnu*ttee would meet with IVIS. Botsford at their April meeting to review the Housing Authority's application. Deborah Battles, llashpee Dousing Authority board member and liaison to the Affordable Housing Committee made note of the desperate need for affordable housing in the Town of Mashpee, Fran LaPorte, Dousing Authority member asked if the commitment is renewable for more than one year. The Committee indicated that they would consider supplemental applications and is open and willing to listen to creative options and recommendations from each applicant. It was disclosed the Committee has received four letters of interest. To date, two applications have been submitted. The Committee agreed to interview all applicants. Projects will be prioritized and considered for ensuing years. All applications received on or before the date of April 1, 2006 would be considered by the Committee for funding at the October 2006 Town Meeting. The second week in July is the deadline for the placement of articles on the fall warrant. Being no further comment,the Committee motioned to close the Public Hearing. Motion made by Mr. Larkin to close the Public Hearing. Motion seconded by lis.Dane. VOTE: Unanimous.
