Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 17,200 <br /> Public Hearing-Community Preservation Funding pplici n: <br /> (continued) <br /> Gerald Umina, Algonquin Investment Trust submitted an application t <br /> the Committee to consider the purchase of 153 Paya ps Road for the <br /> preservation of seven+ - acres for the purpose of open space. The <br /> propel abuts the Mashpee Wildlife Refuge area. The land, if kept in its <br /> natural state would enhance the existing wildlife refuge and prevent <br /> development of a potential 40B project. <br /> The Committee agreed to meet nth Mr. Umina at 6:00 p.m. at their next <br /> meeting to review the project proposal. Due to scheduling constraints, it <br /> was agreed the Comnu*ttee would meet with IVIS. Botsford at their April <br /> meeting to review the Housing Authority's application. <br /> Deborah Battles, llashpee Dousing Authority board member and liaison <br /> to the Affordable Housing Committee made note of the desperate need for <br /> affordable housing in the Town of Mashpee, Fran LaPorte, Dousing <br /> Authority member asked if the commitment is renewable for more than <br /> one year. The Committee indicated that they would consider <br /> supplemental applications and is open and willing to listen to creative <br /> options and recommendations from each applicant. <br /> It was disclosed the Committee has received four letters of interest. To <br /> date, two applications have been submitted. The Committee agreed to <br /> interview all applicants. Projects will be prioritized and considered for <br /> ensuing years. All applications received on or before the date of April 1, <br /> 2006 would be considered by the Committee for funding at the October <br /> 2006 Town Meeting. The second week in July is the deadline for the <br /> placement of articles on the fall warrant. <br /> Being no further comment,the Committee motioned to close the Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Larkin to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by lis.Dane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. <br />
