6 Community Preservation Committee Minutes June 13, 2006 Breezy Acres Expan§ion ro'ect - $600,000: It was agreed the Town is in dire need of affordable housing. The property at the subject site location is presently being used as affordable housing. The proposal would fund four 4new units of affordable family rental housing on Old Barnstable Road. The proposal as presented 's designed using a Title V septic system.. 'fhe issue of linking the project to the l ashpee High School wastewater treaty ent plant was discussed. At this time, 't is cost prohibitive. The Committee agreed that long range plans should consider this type of connection to enable further units to be constructed. Additional developments in the area could also be served by the wastewater connection. The project was debated-and given high ratings although it was deemed costly proposal. It was agreed the Selectmen would be,consulted regarding the wastewater Connection initiative. asibili SI!Ldy $130.,000: Discussion followed regarding the project proposal, a study for planned production housing that would be built on Town owned land at the intersection of Old Barnstable Road and Lowell Toad. At this time, the Cottee agreed not to move forward with the feasibility study proposal. Motion made by Mr. Lard to defer the Feasibility Study for Affordable Dousing. Motion seconded by Ms. Rommelmeyer. VOTE Unanimous. Habitat for flumani - $40,000: The sun of 0 000 is requested to,build two homes on 562 Cotuit Road and 59 Quashnet Road, ilashpee. To date,the Habitat has built ten affordable domes in the "fon of Iashpee. The project proposal was highly supported by the Con nittee.
