6 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> June 13, 2006 <br /> Breezy Acres Expan§ion ro'ect - $600,000: <br /> It was agreed the Town is in dire need of affordable housing. The <br /> property at the subject site location is presently being used as affordable <br /> housing. The proposal would fund four 4new units of affordable family <br /> rental housing on Old Barnstable Road. The proposal as presented 's <br /> designed using a Title V septic system.. <br /> 'fhe issue of linking the project to the l ashpee High School wastewater <br /> treaty ent plant was discussed. At this time, 't is cost prohibitive. The <br /> Committee agreed that long range plans should consider this type of <br /> connection to enable further units to be constructed. Additional <br /> developments in the area could also be served by the wastewater <br /> connection. <br /> The project was debated-and given high ratings although it was deemed <br /> costly proposal. It was agreed the Selectmen would be,consulted <br /> regarding the wastewater Connection initiative. <br /> asibili SI!Ldy $130.,000: <br /> Discussion followed regarding the project proposal, a study for planned <br /> production housing that would be built on Town owned land at the <br /> intersection of Old Barnstable Road and Lowell Toad. <br /> At this time, the Cottee agreed not to move forward with the <br /> feasibility study proposal. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Lard to defer the Feasibility Study for <br /> Affordable Dousing. <br /> Motion seconded by Ms. Rommelmeyer. <br /> VOTE Unanimous. <br /> Habitat for flumani - $40,000: <br /> The sun of 0 000 is requested to,build two homes on 562 Cotuit Road <br /> and 59 Quashnet Road, ilashpee. To date,the Habitat has built ten <br /> affordable domes in the "fon of Iashpee. The project proposal was <br /> highly supported by the Con nittee. <br />
