3 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 8,2008 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Committee Discussion:' <br /> Members of the CPC Committee discussed future protocol as it relates to <br /> the process in which Department Heads request CPQ.funding. It was 4 <br /> agreed,the Town Manager would conduct initial review and approval of <br /> all departmental requests seeking CPA funding. <br /> Proposition 2 x it relates to CPA funding was briefly discussed. <br /> Correspondence from Town liana <br /> Communication was received from the Town Manager dated January 8, <br /> 2008 relative to the funding requests received from the Department of <br /> Public works. Ms. Mason has requested the Committee defer action on <br /> the Route 130 Bikeway/Sidewalk Extension and 10-Acre Site at South <br /> Cape Beach to allow for proper review by the Town Manager and the <br /> Interim Director of Public works. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Brad Tr%p : QuAshnet Tennis Courts: <br /> School Facilities Manager Brad Tripp was ire attendance to discuss the <br /> Quashnet Tennis Court reconstruction project with members of the CPC <br /> Committee. 11r. Tripp indicated the $104,000 project has Borne in under <br /> budget assumptions.. The sum of$21,179.42 is available to be reed to <br /> the budgeted reserve of the CPC. <br /> Mr. Tapp requested the Committee's consideration to purchase a hack- <br /> board for.the court and some trash receptacles. A pro--grade back-board is <br /> projected to cost$5,700 exclusive of slipping and handlmng. The outdoor <br /> wastebaskets are anticipated to cost$300 each. Discussion followed. <br /> Motion made by Ms, Peters to approve the purchase of a back-board <br /> for the()uashnet Tennis Courts using available CPA funding. <br /> Motion seconded by Vis. Kane. <br /> VOTE: 3-2. Motion carries. <br /> Ms. Ro melmeyer, Mr. Halpern opposition. <br />
