Community Preservation Committee Minutes December 14, 2010 Present: Wayne Taylor, Richard Halpern,Ed Larkin,mph Shaw, Tom O'Hara, diary Waygan Absent: Diane Rommelmeyer,Evelyn l uschenfeldt,Prank Lord Meeting Called to Order by Charman Taylor at 6:06 p.m. Town Hall, Conference Room#I APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS Stuart Saginor—ConMur ity Preservation Coalition: --- i Stuart Saginor, Executive Director of the Coniniunity Preservation Coalition was in attendance to update the Co i iunity Preservation Committee on the CPA now in its tenth year. In attendance was Torr Pox, Circuit Rider for Preservation Massachusetts and the rational Trust for Historic Preservation. Mr. Fox,a resident of the Town of Sandwich indicated that he works as an advocate for municipalities on CPA issues perWning to historic preservation and ■ conservation. Several members of the.Town of Sandwich Community Preservation Committee including David DeConto, Administrative Coordinator of the Town of Sandwich CPC Committee were also ha attendance as was Dr. Barbara Schneider,Chair of the Town of Falmouth Community Preservation Committee. Mr. Saginor gave an overview of activities associated to the CPA, an Act executed by Governor Cellucci in September of 2000. (enclosed) To date, 147 communities 2% in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts have passed the CPA though a local referendum.
