Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 4,2011 <br /> David Hines, and his spouse, abutters of the subject parcel were M* <br /> attendance to voice their objection to the project proposal. lir. Hines, in <br /> his opinion stated the lot is only 10,000 square feet and is an abuse of a <br /> o . As an abutter, lir. Hines indicated that he was not notified of the <br /> intent of Habitat to construct ars affordable home on the subject property. <br /> Mr. Hines added he was informed of the objective while reading the local <br /> newspaper. When asked of potential opposition with respect to the <br /> feelings of the neighborhood, Ir. Mines stated that area neighbors are <br /> opposed to the project-proposal. 111r. Dines asked why Habitat would have <br /> the right to install a Title v septic system when he was required to install a <br /> de-nitrification septic system. <br /> Upon review,the Committee expressed their support to Habitat for <br /> Humanity and the many successful projects completed in Mashpee and on <br /> Cape Cod. In support of affordable housing, it was noted the Board of <br /> Appeals may stipulate conditions on the comprehensive permit. Although. <br /> Habitat has a reputable character as leaders on the Cape in affordable <br /> dousing, several Committee members felt the undersized lot has too much <br /> controversy to grant support of the CPA project using Town funds. <br /> Motion made by Ms.way an to approve and recommend to the May <br /> 2011 Special Town pectin ,the CPA Application in the amount of <br /> $25,000 to assist Habitat for Humanity in the construction of an <br /> affordable home on 12 Russell Road,llashpee stipulating that a <br /> comprehensive permit has been obtained from the Zoni <br />
