5 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> April 3, 2012 <br /> NEW L SMES S <br /> Discussion relative to Affordable Housi <br /> recent article in the local newspaper prompted the CPC Committee to discuss <br /> the matter of requiring LORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) con <br /> future Affordable Housing applications. <br /> In discussing this matter, it was noted that most state homeownership programs <br /> do not require LORI checks as there is a potential liability with regards to <br /> discrimination. However, it was disclosed that LORI checks are required by <br /> statute and unposed by the federal government. <br /> [upon review,the Committee agreed that future CPA applications relative to <br /> Affordable Housing would require LORI cheeks if it is legally applicable to the <br /> extent as allowed by lave.
