i MRSHPEE CULTURRI. COUNCIL Nouember 7,, 1995 MINUTES + Rttending: Madeline Boisvert, Denise Fr nius, sally Levine, Lola McCray, Cathy Perry and Amy [dice Woodruff. Paul tripler was unable to attend. Chairperson Cathy perry welcomed application presenters as they arrived. Presentations were made respectfully in order of arrival. R Prior to the onset of presentations, Cathy Perry announced she must resign as Chairperson. Cathy is pursuing her Masters Degree, which that along with being a Mom requires all of her time. she will however stay on the board- and be of apy necessary assistance to the new chairperson. Lola McCray was nominated then elected to be the next chairperson of the Mashpee Cultural Council. Following Lola"s appointment there was a brief discussion as to her role and responsibilities. KCathy Perry informed presenters that this committee has been allotted $3,150 for distribution. Houiew oU--aippli cant s in order of ipnion: 1 . Mashpee Beautification Council, Public Art in Rotary. Jane Coogan and Stephen Van To[ presented blue prints and diagrams as t the projected Rotary Project. The money would be used to pay for a Planner's Feasibility study for public art in the community. The amount requested was $3,000. The committee agreed to award $1,500 towards this project. 2. Cape & Islands Jazz Collaborative, Jazz concert at schools, Jody Clinger presented the project which would return to Mashpee Schools to introduce Jazz to the students. The amount requested was $500. The committee agreed to award the full amount of $500. 3. Kenneth C. Coombs school & Mashpee diddle school, Tickets to Repertory Ensemble* The money granted would be used to pay $5.00 ticket price for children in grades 4-6 to attend the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble at the Zeiterion Theatre, New Bedford MA. The amount requested was $2,500. The committee agreed to award $1,150 towards this project. 5
