3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 19,2012 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Recommendation for Contract Award—Salt and Sand: <br /> Catherine Laurent,Director of Public Works was before the Board to request <br /> approval of the FYI regional bids received for the purchase of sand and road <br /> salt, It is recommended the bid for the purchase of sand be awarded to Cape Cod <br /> Aggregates of Hyannis. It was noted the bid is a decrease of 1%from FY12. <br /> Two low bids were received for road salt. As a result of the tie breaker,a coin <br /> toss was held. Based on the toss, it is recommended the bid be awarded to <br /> Eastern Minerals of Lowell. The price is the same as FY12, <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to award the bid for the purchase of <br /> Road Salt to Eastern Minerals,Inc. in the amount of$51.615 per ton. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Richardson,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Taylor,absent Selectman Cahalane,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed,none <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to award the bid for the purchase of <br /> Sand to Cape Cod Aggregates, Corp. in the amount of$9.39 per ton. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Richardson,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Taylor, absent Selectman Cahalane,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed,none <br />
