I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> SEE CONSIRVATION CONffSSIO T <br /> Met-ion g of Seer 6 1990 <br /> Commissioners Present: Patrick Coffey, v. -Louise Behrman, Duncan York, <br /> Marry De rosiers and Associate Member Susana Lannik. <br /> Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent, was present also. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> LEEPOTIM19 I% WARDEN: The Commission was advised he has received approval <br /> for a grant to allow two men twenty hours work weekly for twenty weeks, They will <br /> start at the head of the pond and work to route 28 cleaning the Ma tepee River. <br /> Any overgrowth will be removed. He asked the Commission for guidelines. <br /> The flume will be replaced; there will be no digging, only clearing of brush. There <br /> is a rusted out tank in the river that will be removed. <br /> There was discussion of the promised $5,000 from Tack Sullivan for clean-up. 1t <br /> was suggested any building/occupancy permits be held pending settlement t of this <br /> debt. <br /> The banks will only be cleared of what is hanging down into the river. There are <br /> two trees at the herring run that have narrowed the river to three feet where it <br /> should be twelve feet. <br /> Ms Behrman stated that slows the water flow creating higher temperatures. <br /> Mr. Coffey asked what was required procedurally' <br /> Mr. Sherman advised there is an aquacul ur l exemption which would apply. H <br /> requested a written one -page description of what is proposed for the record. <br /> Mr. Dotter suggested a meeting with regards to the Johns Pond flume and the <br /> Wilds�River. <br /> Mr. York asked where the out brush will be disposed of and was told it will <br /> be stacked far away from the bank making a hone for other animals. , <br /> It was noted Don Born of the American Littoral. Society would like to meet with <br /> Mr. Dotter. Mr. Potter gave his contact number, 477 -6154. <br /> 7:30 RICHARD COFFMM., 167 Whippoorwill. Francis <br /> Smith presented abutter receipts and a letter of support from WBNERR. <br /> It was noted a call was received today from Steve Furley of Fisheries and <br /> Wildlife wishing to male it known they support this project heartily. <br />
