x Conservation Commission <br /> September 2 ; 1990 <br /> Page -3. <br /> is 5 feet; it will be out of the ,existing tree line, Four native plants ex- <br /> isting on the bank will be used on the bank for revegetation and to bring back <br /> the contours. <br /> Mr. Homeyer questioned parking for Lot 1378. <br /> Mr. Zeppenfeld stated they are cutting back the footprint of the building. <br /> There was concern with the dune and the breakout wall.. They have eliminated <br /> the breakout wall. The Board of Health is allowing them to adjust the water <br /> table for fluctuating tide; ground water will fluctuate with the tides. They <br /> will be proposing use of bead plum in clusters to act as a sand fence to bring <br /> the area back naturally along with plantings of beach grass. <br /> Mr. Sherman stated the new regs have a presumption of wildlife habitat signif- <br /> icance and threshold levels on individual lots. Although these are not supposed <br /> to be altered, he feels they will improve things to totally enhance wildlife <br /> habitat even though they would exceed the threshold on other lots. They have <br /> avoided the bank. <br /> Mr. Humphries distributed copies of a letter addressed to Michael Grotzke re <br /> the water quality of Deans Pond. The proposal to level an area for an.accessory <br /> project, such as a small parking area, is allowable under 310 R 10.28 .. <br /> Mrs. Simons asked if this was the area designated 'barrier" and was told it is. <br /> Mr. Humphries stated, re the construction of the parking area, it was his sugg- <br /> estion that it be more perpendicular to the road as it is in a line with the _ <br /> existing pathway that goes to the beach which is already denuded of vegetation. <br /> The o the r change would protect the existing cedar; mi-nim. 1 grading would have <br /> to occur. The vegetated area is beach grass and one clump of bayberry. The <br /> parking area would be .950 S.F. ; revegetation will occur on the pathway going <br /> to the bead amounting to 2,500 S.F. for a trade-off in benefits. <br /> Mr. Sherman asked if the driveway and revegetation would be a single Notice of <br /> Intent? <br /> Mr. Zeppenfeld advised a Notice of Intent was filed on 1379 for revegetation and <br /> rebuilding of the dune; the work Mr. Humphries is talking about has not been <br /> brought up previously.
