MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> EMERGENCY MEETI <br /> JANUARY 4, 1990 <br /> Commissioners present: Gertrude Simmons, V. Louise B h r a , Joseph Burns, <br /> Patrick Coffey, Richard Halpern. <br /> Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent, was present also. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.. <br /> The Chairman welcomed new member Richard Halpern. <br /> I . Sherman presented guidelines for criteria in consideration of candidates. <br /> APPLICATIONS REVIEWED: <br /> Philip . Kingsley, gS Briar Patch Lane, Mashpee <br /> Burton Kaplan,, Riverview Ave. , I ashpee <br /> Duncan o. Yogic, 85 South Sandwich Rd. , Mashpee <br /> Jamie Regan, 27 Cape Drive, Mashpee <br /> Frank D. Homeyer,, 39 #onomoscoy Rd. , flash pee <br /> Raymond C. Guillette, Jr. ,, So Wilann Rd. , Mash poo <br /> Edwin W. Beeby, 41 Fiddler Crab Lane, Mashpee <br /> After Discussion: <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to recommend to the Selectmen that Edwin Beeby <br /> e appointed as voting member to the Commission. <br /> Richard Halpern abstained. <br /> It was unknown whether Marcia Johnson' s application had been withdrawn. She would <br /> lie to be considered for associate membership. <br /> It was noted Frank Homeyer had spoken en at the public hearing re the hunting regulation <br /> and it was suggested he be approached to see if he would be willing to serve on the <br /> lashpee River Woodland Committee. Also noted, Ir. Kaplan's credentials would make <br /> him an excellent candidate for the Board of Health. <br /> Mr. Sherman suggested anyone willing to serve would be most Icdme as a consultant. <br /> He expressed interest in the technical expertise of Messrs. York and Kingsley. <br /> Vacancies on the Johns Pond Park Committee and Ma hpee River Woodlands Committee <br /> will be made known. <br /> SOUTH CAPE BEACH: her. .Halpern was asked if there was an appeal of the Board of <br /> Appeal 's decision and was told there is not. The Commission can act on their <br /> filing. <br /> Mr. Halpern also advised with multiple boards giving permits for. the sane project, <br /> i e. , a dock, Board of Appeals gives the permit for a specific size dock which is <br /> recorded. If the Commission changes the size, the applicant should go back to <br /> the Board of Appeals and have it corrected; even downsizing. This is a minor <br /> modification of ap ecial permit, <br /> Town Counsel to be consulted. <br />
