Conservation Commission <br /> January 11 , 1998 <br /> Page 3. <br /> The Chairman advised he should have stepped down prior to the hearing and asked <br /> that he do so the net time. <br /> 8:30 New Seabury Limited Partnership, for the installation f sand fencing and <br /> walkover structures along the southwest section of New Sea-bury within the barrier <br /> beach-coastal dune area. Brian Zeppenfeld, project engineer, presented abutter <br /> receipts. They are requesting to install a fence and to provide two walkovers <br /> providing access to the beach. People walking along the beach have rade a trail <br /> along the center of the dune. There have been breaches in three locations at <br /> high tide; they have lost some of the fairway. <br /> Mr, Sherman agreed with the need for this and asked to see details on the walkovers. <br /> Ids Behrn asked if they were to be seasonally removed and was told they would not. <br /> She suggested they be elevated. <br /> Mrs. Simmons asked the amount of grass to be planted and if this was stated in the <br /> Notice. It is not. They propose to put the fence in lime with the grass to <br /> accrete sand. Mr. Zeppenfeld stated he did not take dimensions. He further <br /> stated he did not see any problem with elevating the walkways in the same <br /> location. <br /> Mrs. Simmons asked for this to be put on a plan with a profile and a statement <br /> the sand fencing will continue under the walkover and dune grass p l anti rig will <br /> occur* <br /> Mr. Zeppenfeld agreed to rake a submission and suggested keeping the height of <br /> the walkovers at Bo" or less to be able to go without a rail, He asked if <br /> going higher than 30" would be a problem and was told it would not, <br /> Nor. Homeyer referred to gridding systems used in gays stations and suggested <br /> duplicating with 4 X Vs. on a flood tide sand would be deposited between, <br /> giving a place for the grass to start. <br /> CONTINUED TO FEBRUARY 22, 1990 - 7:30 P.M. <br /> Paul Somerville advised the Barnstable County Shellfish Commission meeting will <br /> be held on January 12.- Jaye Sons Trust,, with the issued involved, i'11 be the <br /> Mashpee case discussed. <br /> VOTE-0 Motion rude and seconded to appoint Gertrude Simmons r present tive of <br /> the Commission to attend the meeting with the Agent and Shellfish Warden. <br /> REQUEST BY AGENT: With a possible reduction in hours, he has been offered a <br /> part-time teaching position at CCCC. If filled, the course would be held on <br /> Thursday Night and he asked the Commission to consider changing hearing nights. <br /> To be discussed. <br /> Y <br /> COMMISSION OFFICE MOVE: <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded not to return to the downstairs hearing room <br /> with the asbestos conditions. They are <br /> appealing under the Town Bylaw as required by the State, prior to appeal to <br /> the state. <br />
