Ir <br /> MASHM CMSE ATIo UM SSIo <br /> r <br /> Meeting of November 1% 1990 <br /> COMISSionersPrsnt: Patrick Coffey, Gertrude Simmons, Duncan York, Harry Desrsiers <br /> Louise Behrman, Renee Fudala and Associate Member Susana kik. <br /> Dan Homeyer arrived at 9:30 p.m. <br /> Conservation Agent Robert Sherman was present also. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> 6:58 NEW SFAEM Co. - BEACH NOURl Continued from November I. Brian Zeppenfeld <br /> presenting. A draft Order of Conditions was sent to Jim o'Connell of OZM and to the <br /> Commission. Mr. O'Connell did not have time to review the Order. <br /> Mr. Sherman advised he concurred with the draft Order presented by New Seabury. <br /> Asked how they vary, Mr. Zeppenfeld advised only that sarmpling would be from the <br /> respective source for the nourishment area. He took the original Order of Conditions <br /> issued and added some of the boilerplate standards. Plantings on Maushop have cut out <br /> the source, to mitigate they will put down the sand in front of Maushop Bluff and at <br /> Sandy Beach. They would sample Maushop Bluff in several spots to get an envelope. <br /> They are not doing anything different than in the past. They ret with O M and to <br /> bring down the cost of survey work, they will nourish and after material is down <br /> they will survey. They surveyed every 100 feet at the nourishment areas and 500 <br /> feet in between, before and after. Survey work is now cut to once a year, same <br /> time. <br /> Ms Behrman stated the original beach nourishment plan was ruched as part of the <br /> Clam Shell Path .suit. She suggested this be run by Assistant Town Counsel. There <br /> are three houses 'on the Triton Sound, Burke, Iirenberg and el.kin she asked if they <br /> are tied into this? Mr. Zeppenfeld said no, because they have their own revetments. <br /> She felt the hearing should be kept open to retake sure there is no legal contradiction. <br /> F <br /> Concerning accretion deposition, Mr. Coffey asked if the project location gets hit <br /> front on and deposits go in both directions. <br /> Mr. Zeppenfel.d advised it does. The sound was breached north of Sandy Beach.- there <br /> is erosion at Maushop and Tide watch, the golf course is eroded at the second tee, <br /> and a lot of accretion at Poppneset Inn. <br /> Mr. Coffey asked how access points would be documented by photographs, per item 18? <br /> Mr. Zeppenfeld stated they can be shot from down the path. There are tree access <br /> points; the sensitive one is at Tide Watch area. They have placed haybales there <br /> and it was planted with beach grass two gears ago, <br /> A Fax from Timothy J. Foley was read expressing concern with the consistency of the <br /> material put down originally. He requested the Commission seek assurances the mat- <br /> erial will be the same as the pre-existing material, <br /> Mr. Zeppenfeld advised sediment analyses have been reviewed by DEP. <br /> Mr, Coffey summarized: CSM input is expected within two weeks, Torn Counsel to be <br /> consulted for conflict with the original order of conditions.
