r + <br /> 41 <br /> MASHPEE CONSERVATION MUS1 GAL BARING AND RBGULAR STING <br /> DATE: February 14, 1979 Mashpee Town Hall <br /> TIME: 7:30 P. . <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman DeLory., with the following Berm <br /> bers present: Dorothy Stadley, Charles Buckingham and Jim LeClair. Absent were <br /> Barbara S 1 ane, Wayne T aware s and N a non Dias. <br /> Mrs, Elwood Mills and. her two sons were present and showed the Commission a <br /> 1912 map, saying that the Mills family was given a blanket deed for the lots they <br /> already had. The town changed the lots into another map -� there are m roads. <br /> (Miscellaneous facts: Deed from C. E. a wTence Attorney Misci drew up the deed; <br /> Alan Swain was the TownCounsel.) Since 1930, they have researched this prow <br /> perty and found out a lot of history about it. Out of 589 lots, only 267 were <br /> sold between 1912 and 1915 an 200 lots left, of record, not wed or sold.,- unless <br /> people bought them and didn't record them. All are now recorded at the Registry <br /> of Deeds* She said that she has an attorney to represent thea, but he's on v - <br /> cation. <br /> They are interested in presenting this props to the town in perpetuity. <br /> She pointed out the places that would go to conservation, Mr. DeC .air asked <br /> what pmts would go to the- takwn and she said that all the parts that are color <br /> ored blue wound go to the tom. She also said that there is only one road that <br /> goes in there. She also said that there is a cranberry bog and that there is a <br /> beautiful view during all the different seasons. It also contains a marshy <br /> area. - the bog is a working one, owned by Brackett from Gotuit. She suggested <br /> to Mr. LeClair that the Commission go aver and see it. <br /> She gave Mrs. DeLory a copy of Ir r ct of land owned by Elwood C. Mills and <br /> Josephine D. Mills of Mashpee., to be considered for a conservation easement t <br /> the 'down of Mashpee xl lots, on paper only (mostly o land) - approximately <br /> 15.49 acres, assessed valuation $111,050,00 (Map #23 and 30) � southeasterly <br /> section of Mashpee near Santuit Pond& She asked if there were any questions. <br /> Mrs. DeLory said that the Commission will go aver it, adding that Mrs o <br /> Mi is and her family r agree to grant it in perpetuity rather than for 20 years. <br /> Nate should be made that the pertinent information is to be found in GL Chap <br /> tar 184Sections 31 � 3 Page f the Handbook for Massachusetts Gonser a= <br /> tion Commissioners.
