Mr. Kuebler said that, assuming that the Corporation is as fortunate as <br /> they have been in Virginia, and along the Jersey shore have they experimented <br /> with putting in another set of bags to see if you can perch it further` Mr. <br /> Guttman said that the same conditions don't exist as in Chesapeake Bay. Fle <br /> also said that if you build a higher bag, it 's the same thing as putting in <br /> tato bags - that's the whole paint in trying out larger bags. <br /> Mr. Kuebler asked if it was in Mr. Guttman's plans to build a tank or <br /> something and accelerate his plans. Mr. Guttman said that the IaT sea Grant <br /> Program is a grant for a, few million dollars - you put in a grant proposal <br /> every year for a certain amount of projects. The first year is ,just going <br /> to be a. seed project - it will be years before they get this thing running. <br /> Mr. Sloane said that there had been rurio s that on occasion concrete <br /> had been used to fill the bags and you would. end -up path a bunch of rocks. <br /> Mr. Guttman said that concrete is used 'n thea when they are placed against <br /> dunes etc. lie also said that Dennis lost a bulkhead and a parking lot, but <br /> the sill bags remained. <br /> Mrs. De ory asked what the rate of deteri prat on was to the bags and fir. <br /> Guttman said that if they sit out in the sun and are not covered by sand, they <br /> have a life of perhaps four gears, provided they are not punctured.. - e also <br /> said that a kid came in with a claw homer and punched out his initials in a <br /> bag. It was also mentioned that C M <br /> would streamline the red tape. Mr. Kuebler mentioned that some people have <br /> been waiting one and a half years -for dock permission.
