astir cont.
Tauline:, is this a smilar problem as you had at the condominiums?
r. Kuebl r: Tyils is clearly an erosion problem fron, the ocean. l really be-
lieve that people who watch the erosion of the whole shore line would recognize
th .t most of the erosion is caused not by an occas Tonal thunder shower but by
the Northeastlers that come in there and eat away at that bank. And that is why
we are recommending a, solution. It is not a complete solution, but it is part
f a plan to try and control and stabilize that bank
Pauline-b: !.would like to read the following letter into the record, It is from
Hock Landing Park Association. "The thirty-three property owners of Hock Landing
Park Association, Tnc, object to the riprp constriction proposed by Holmes and
McGrath at Mauhop Tillage; New eabry. As abutters, we have not been prop--
erly notified, 2. We nave serious concerns based on the deleterious effects this
construction may Dose to our beach and contiguous property. 3. You will recall
that we have been in touch with the Commission on previous occasions, asking you
to intervene in the abuse to this sensitive bluff area caused by the dumping of
c n rete, old blac%k tap from roads, organic debri , and driving heavy equipment
ent
n it. 4. No clearly defined access the proper ty i indicated in the intent,
4
We will not tolerate trespass over our private property, as has occurred in the
past, causing serious damage age and erosion. 5. As an alternative, we suggest that
the cottages an the precipice of the bluff be moved back, and further, that snot
fencing be tried for at least two years, as is being done by the Falmouth Conser-
vation Commis ion ire a similar situation.' Thank you for recognizing our concerns
in this matter,11 Yolars very truly, Rook Landing Park Associlation4 Inc. There is
an addendum to the letter as follows: "It should be noted that the erosion to the
bluff area. is not from the sea., upward, but rather, from tree top down. This is
due to lack of properly installed and maintained drainage systems at Gush p Vil-
lage. At a. previous meeting, you will recall, Rock 'Landing Landing Park Association com-
plained about tie run-off of water from Maushop Tillage over our property. This
problem was never addressed by New Seabury Corporation- and continues to exist,
creating serious erosion to individual and commonly owned property. If riprap i
allowed to be installed, it should be in a continuous formation, beginn' ing first
at the Popponesset iron, across our property, and then across the Maushop Village
b 1 u f'f. Otherwise. our property, becomes even more of a natural funnel, not only
for the village runoff, but for the sea as well.
Mr. c,ra t was asked if the abutters were properly notified?
Mr. McGrath: Yes
t
Pauline: Did you sena it by certified mail?
'fir. ' ° rath: No, I didn't.
Paulines Does anyone else have any questions?
Mrs. Henn May I ask Mr. Kuebler a question?
Doul i Yes, ynu .may.
yrs* =- ennin;: Tow will your equipment get on to and off the beach?
Mr. uebler; We n d extended an I.rivitation to use the access down that road and
then repair the ra::; after we used i t* We thought that this was the east n-
s Ire w y to do th4s work and t,a+ you could benefit by a met+er road. l was told,
