Conservation Commission
" i . 1 ? Page 6
1n..t es A
, e:ll .naton Oilfield "upply hearing, cont.
Mr Og ren States that he believes that relates to a. proposal to use some mind, of
stabilization on the bluff and not to the construction of the cottages. ILe also states
that he does not know of anything which states that they didn't want any tense ofper-
manence lent to the cottages themselves. This whole area has been under Paul And r on's
review since day one. (Paul Anderson is a, Regional nvironmenta.l Engine 3r- `: om D 4
'there are a. number of letters on file relative to the septic systems and t.heir changes.
At no time did anyone indicate that these cotta.;es cannot stay there. lr. Fact, these
people have,' under a condominium form ofownership, purchased the right -.la.ve the
cottage there. They mere also deeded an additional right to move it back If they so
chose. He does not think anything which has come out of MILIA has said they have
to move ;them 'b .ck..at -this time or that they can't ,jack them up. Stated it was a.
suggestion that came out of -Paul Anderson's office about moving the cott ,c., back.
Peter,: Asks where they world move the cottage if they were going to move ilt. back?
Mr. 2aren. Where is an easement which has already been deeded to each coot.11,e owner on
the bluff, (Points out the area for the cottage in question) States thy.L. e asked the
Client if he wanted .to consider moving it bask and he said "ono". This atr~ticlar in-
d fvidu .l who has purchased this unit is one who has rented down in Mau ho; Village for
number of ye .rs' a.nd he was not concerned about the erosion. He felt that .e would cross
that bridge when he came to it. if he builds it on sono tube, he can move i fairly
readily. It is riot like putting it on a full foundation. That is what the request is.
Charlie:_. Asked if the footings for the proposed additions would be on sone: tubes?
Mr. en: s eta.tes ' tha.t they will be on sono tubes- as well. t a.t es that t l-,e proposed
additions are indicated. He points out that it will involve a. bathroom area, a. bedroom
area and a storage area.
Peter: Asks if it will continue to be -just a summer residence or a. year-round residence?
Mr. Ogren „ States that t'o his knowledge, it will continue to be just a. summer~ residence.'
States that Mr. Coller~an resides in Rhode Island.
Ch.rlie: - Asks if.- the outdoor shower w 111 be hooked -up"
Ir. ren: States. tha.t there has been no indication that it would- be. It would be a.
matter -of hnving 1t on sono tubes.
Charlie: States that- it cannot comply with Board of Health regulations. You cannot take
a- drainage from a toilet facility of any type and introduce it' upon the surface, It must
go to a septic system. - The shower can be used with soap.
Mr. Oar n: It can -be used with soap, that is true., but that is not the primary reason
.* w Oar
a
for this outside shower. There .was talk about the units not having aninside shower so
that.a. person had to shower outside,
Charlie: Suggests that he check with the Board of Health,
Mr. Ogren:, states that when the units were reapproved as far as the changes were con-
cerned' i the condominium plan the outside shower did show. In each case, it was de-
signed such that everybody would have the opportunity to annex this little area, on so
that they could build a real legitimate bathroom inside the house. The way hese units.
are now, they have a. vanity, a, sink and a. toilet inside and the shower was outside and
no matter what' you wanted in terms of a. shower, it had to be outside. The thing that
dict not comply was the fact that there was no inside shower.
