MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
REGULAR. MEETING JUNE 17, 1976.
MEMBERS PRESENT. Dorothy Studley Norman Dias
James LeClaire Pauline Delory
Barbara Sloane Charles Buckingham
The meeting was called to order by the chairperson. Mr. Gerald Umina
appeared before the Commission to request an extension of his permit
to construct a pier, ramp and float, project x`43-36 in Great Raver.
Commission agreed to a one year extens ion as set forth in the statute.
A letter from Christopher Burden, President of New Seabury Corp. was
read asking the Commission to discuss and take action on an alternate
plan for the "seven Pouse lots" at Spinnaker Cove. The Latest lan
reduces the number of lets to four and allows a conservation, Nent
the water body. A motion was made and it was voted by the majority
that we advise Mr. Burden that while -this plan has merit it is the
opinion that the placement of the road easement to the lots will not
meet with planning board requirements (no provision for turning emergency
vehicles) , the road will contribute some pollution because of the
excessive runoff from "The Jib" and "Waterway" . Since the Commis, tion
has expended considerable funds and. almost 3 years in time, it was
therefore agreed that we would await the ruling of the Commissioner of
Evvironmental Quality Engineering, on the appeal taken by New Seabury
to the order issued by this Commission.
The new plan by the Corporation for Bufflehead Bay was discussed briefly
and the Commission voted to have its members appear_ et the Planing Board
session when this will be heard.
The Mashpee River Oorrider meeting was announced as being July 13 and
notes were presented on the June 15 ming.
The Chairperson was requested to write to Trout Unlimited in Falmouth
to see if we could obtain the water test results which they have been
working on along the Mashpee, Quahnet and Santuit Ravers.
By unanimous consent Dorothy Studley was voted chairperson for another
term.
Chairperson was instructed to request the services of a secretary from
the personnel board roster®
Respe ,fully subm' • ed,
Dorothy Studley, ha ;person
