We will meet again with Town Counsel to point out current zoning bylaws <br /> (Page ail I require standard street signs and seely his interpretation and advice <br /> regarding applg the by-law to all private ways. This meeting is scheduled for May 2, <br /> 2005. <br /> Committee members will also meet with Town Manager on May 2, 2005 to discuss the <br /> program to install automatic doors on Town.Hall. On March 7,2005, she stated money <br /> was In the fiscal 2006 budget for the doors. Reportedly, she subsequently made <br /> comments that this may be a capital expenditure. If true,this would mean an extended <br /> delay in making Town Hall accessible. This meeting is intended to clear up any <br /> misunderstanding. <br /> i <br /> The Massachusetts Office on Disabilities will be conducting a two-day Community <br /> Access Monitor training program in Hach in October. To date, Mashpee has not <br /> participated in this program so this provides the first opportunity to tale advantage of the <br /> program. We will contact the manager of this program in September to register our <br /> attendees. Building Department members will receive five points for attendance. <br /> We have contacted the Massachusetts Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to <br /> try to arrange for an interpreter for the hard of hearing dig the May town meeting. <br /> (NOTE: MCDHH was unable to come up with the necessary interpreters by the April 28, <br /> 2005 deadline. w'e'll have to start earlier for the fall town meeting.) We are also looking <br /> mato the possibility of having closed caption included in the televising of Town Meet* <br /> Town imager said she would look into that capability. <br /> Now that the weather is more accommodating,Richard and Charlie intend to follow-up <br /> with Mashpee Commons officials regarding the numerous access issues discussed <br /> previously. <br /> We will revise the waffant item proposing the change in the bylaw regarding fines for <br /> parking violations to incorporate Town Counsel's suggestion. We will draft a warrant <br /> item asking the town to accept M.G.L. Section 40,paragraph 8J authorizing the <br /> establishment of a disabilities commission. If the drafts are approved at the May meeting <br /> they will be submitted to the selectmen's office for inclusion in the warrant for the fall <br /> town meeting. <br />
