I ars not able to assume that, and so it is clear for the record, when I accepted the invitation join the Conservation Commission I indicated that for ,at least a couple of ,years I could do no more than one day or evening a week. I would not be able to give the job the kind of time that it would require. While I appreciate the thought, I must decline." " Ell iot Rosenberg: "Frankly, while talking I have been thinking of how to handle this situation and I am going to ask, at this point, for nominations for Vice-Chairman of the Conservation Commission for the year ending 6/30/87, Louise Behrman nominated Nonie Ferriday as interim Vice Chairman until she returns. Ell iot Rosenberg: "I don' t think we can do that. We can nominate her , or anybody, but I think the only thing that can be alone is if there is a nec- essity ec- essit,y in any meeting for a Vice Chairman , in the absence of a Chaff man , and in the absence of the elected Vice Chairman , there be a Chairman Pro Teri for the day be elected at the beginning of that meeting, If ,you are nominating Norrie Ferriday, is there a second for that nomination Any other name for the Post of Vice Chairman of the Conservation Commission? Hearing no farther nom- inations , m-mations , I would. . . . . " Geral d Sprout: "Hold on, I would like my position clarified. As far as I -fi now I cannot vote." Elliot Rosenberg: "That is correct for the moment. You cannot vote, only the seven members. We have an article before the Town Meeting which would solve that problem because -where there are five here tonight, your would be appointed by the Chairman , if Town Meeting approves that item, .you would automatically be appointed to sit and vote. That situation i s in limbo." Elliot Rosenberg: "There being only one nomination for- the office of Vice Chairman, I would request consent of the meeting to cast one ballot for the election of I onie (Gertrude) Ferriday as bice Chairman of the Conservation Commission for the coming year, " Unanimous Consent, "I am going to take the Chairman' s prerogative and I am going to request the unanimous consent of the members Dresent of the Mashpee Conservation Commission that the Chairman,an, March duPont, Chairman for the ,year ending June 30, 1986, be authorized to remain in that position until the net meeting of the Conservation Commission at which tiome the first order of business shall be the election of a Chairman.
