Mr. Schmidt indicated his absence
was due to the School Committee convening a historic meeting at the Mashpee Wampanoag
Tribal headquarters. It was also revealed that School Superintendent Patricia DeBoer was out-
of-state and regretfully unable to attend this meeting.
Mr. Schmidt introduced Mike Looney, Director of Technical Education at the Mashpee High
School to further review the conversation regarding the distinction between a vocational school
and the Mashpee High school with respect to education. In discussing this matter, an
informational handout from the School Superintendent was distributed. (enclosed)
Mr. Looney indicated that across the State of Massachusetts, the Mashpee High School is in the
forefront in providing quality educational programming. Both schools offer Career& Technical
Education(CTE) with sequential course offerings within career clusters and electives.
Cape Cod Regional Technical School members are certified differently under 17 Chapter 74
Career Vocational &Technical Education (CVTE)programs.
