Conservation Commission <br /> Meeting of August 28, 1986 <br /> Page 6. <br /> The Commission was advised Mr. Berkowitz t on Triton Warr has retained Choate, <br /> Hall & Stewart and is bringing suit against the commission for the denial <br /> under the town by-laws of a revetment. <br /> MASHPEE RIVER SUB-COMMITTEE: Gerald Sprout is unable to attend the first <br /> meeting of the sub-committee. Carol Jacobson has agreed to chair this meeting. <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to have Carol Jacobson as ars alternate to the <br /> Mashpee River Sub-Committee. <br /> BOG COMMITTEE: As part of the terms of the contract, every three years a review <br /> of the status of the bogs is to be conducted by the Bog committee, plus two <br /> appointed members from the Cranberry Research Center. Joe Reardon suggested <br /> a wormer from one of the large bog companies who is knowledgeable and would be <br /> willing to assess the situation and advise the commission. It has been stated <br /> the price per barrel is high which may be a reason for the deterioration of the <br /> bogs and negotiation may be necessary for adequate maintenance of the bogs. <br /> Ms Behrman stated she would like to have a paragraph in the local newspaper <br /> that the commission would like to have more consultant members. Judy Mills <br /> is interested in serving. The Commission was in agreement. <br /> An acture Bog sub-committee is needed. Carol Jacobson offered to act as rep- <br /> resentative from the commission. An alternate member will be needed. March <br /> duPont offered to assist in event of a conflict. <br /> It was noted no appeal has been filed, n the Santu i t Pond Fire Road. <br /> Ms Be rman advised a memo will be sent to the Board of Health requesting <br /> meeting with them in an attempt to set up communication channels . <br /> Meeting was adjourned at 10:40 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Diana M#; Lund <br /> Recording Secretary <br />
