MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMM I SS 1 ofd f MEETING OF JANUARY 8, 1987 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Gertrude Ferriday, Acting Chairman ; Carol Jacobson; March duPont; glary arsters ; Elliot Rosenberg . ABSENT: V. Louise Behrman The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. : o - Colonial Gas Co. , Coastal Engineering-Agent. To install a gas main along the north std of Quinaquisset Avenue from Riverview Avenue to the Barn- stable arn- stable town line within the town road lay out in the buffer zone. Elaine McKay f Coastal Engineering and Bob bowling of Colonial Gas presenting . The work 111 include trenching 30 in h s down from grade. Excavated material wl11 be stored on the road and excavated areas will be backfilled the same day. The area i 1 1 be l named and seeded upon completion. the only area to deviate _ i ll be the bridge and a section at the town line where they will have to locate the gas line within the pavement over a piling that i s located within the bridge. Pictures were shown to the commission to i 1 lutrate. The wetland is south of the read and they are proposing to Rut the main on the north side of the road . They foresee no siltation . The main will be located i n the center of the bridge. Mr . Cove1 i ng stated the drawing i s per state request 1vih'ch shows the gas main 1 oea ted over the p i I i ng . He advised the end of the existing main is in Bar-nstob�e. The order for a previous project on Great Neck Road stipulated the Conservation Officer was to be contacted to determine the location of the wetland and t ,be notified when work was completed . It was noted the person to be contacted concerning the project is Mr. Dowl i ng at 394-9851 , extension 296. Mr. Larson stated they have completed both sides of the Quashnet River and have the hook-up link that does cross the river. Hay bales are proposed on the bank. They will be trenching approximately 5 feet off the pavement crossing the river. Mrs . Ferriday questioned the reege to t i on plans . r .
